So back up your accounts, save your posts and prepare to move elsewhere.
I’m currently backing everything up, then planning to delete all photo content from my blog posts. From my understanding, text of “pornographic” nature will not be deleted. However anything showing genitals or sex acts will be purged. So The Hot Meat Market will remain (hopefully) after this purge as a placeholder of what once was with links to my other social media accounts.
Tumblr will swear this is about providing a safe community for it’s users. The reality is, the Tumblr mobile app was removed from the Apple App Store. As Apple does not allow any apps that provide easy access to adult content, Tumblr is desperate to get back in the app store. They will swear all other reasons, but the bottom line is, Tumblr (Owned by Verizon) had no fucks to give about anything posted on Tumblr until it impacted their $$$$.
Again, this isn’t a test, a drill or a false alarm. ALL Tumblr blogs with adult content will be shuttered (allowing only posts that are safe for work) and all tumblr posts with adult content WILL BE PURGED via BOT using algorithms.
