Laplace no Ma aka Laplace’s Demon (Hummingbird Soft / Vic Tokai – SNES – 1995)
Laplace no Ma is a horror-themed JRPG with a Lovecraftian bent. It was originally released in 1987 for PC-88 and PC-98, and was later ported to MSX, Sharp X68000, and PC Engine CD. It also ported to the Super Famicom in 1995, though this version seems to differ a fair bit gameplay wise.
The Super Famicom version received a fan translation back in 2001, but it featured wooden-sounding dialogue, abbreviated item names, and glitched out menus, so it was far from an ideal playthrough. Thankfully years later, Aeon Genesis has released a “Version 2.0″ for the translation, completely redoing the text and fixing the previous version’s many errors.
